I just had one of those days where you have to run a bunch of errands and do adult stuff like taking the cat to the vet.. Not so fun, BUT if there's something that makes these days better is wearing something comfy that makes me feel cute at the same time. So, I thought I'd give you the lowdown on my outfit for the day.

First things first, my trusty pair of jeans from H&M. I've had these babies for about five years now, can you believe it? They still look brand new, and the best part is they only cost me 20€ back in the day. I swear, they are one of the best investment I ever made.

Now, let's talk about my shoes. I'm rocking these gorgeous ballerina flats from Bianco. They're made out of leather and are surprisingly comfortable. I snagged them on Zalando for just 25€ a few years ago, and I've been wearing them almost daily ever since. Talk about a steal, right?

For the top, I went for a dark blue cotton t-shirt from Burberry. It's one of those classic pieces that never go out of style. But here's the twist – I layered a white and blue striped shirt on top to give it a bit of a playful edge. You know me; I love mixing and matching when putting together an outfit. This shirt is vintage (you've probably seen it before on my socials) and I thrifted it at the beginning of the year for only 5€. It is made out of cotton and it has become one of my favourite shirts.

Now, let's talk bags. This summer, I've been absolutely obsessed with this vintage leather bag. It's not my usual style, as I tend to go for more structured bags, but this one stole my heart. It's roomy enough to practically lose your things inside, and I love the oversized feel. It's like Mary Poppins' bag, but fashion-forward.

As much as I love summer, the heat wave in Madrid is not something I enjoy to be completely honest, so I'm glad the temperatures are finally going down a little bit and that I can wear linen trousers and cotton shirts again.

For today's combo I opted for these white trousers I bought last year from Mango (by the way, to this day, these are one of my favourite purchases). They are very comfortable yet have that nicely structured cut that makes them look pretty nice, meaning I can easily upgrade them for a more put together look if I wanted to (you can see many examples of this on my instagram account). Because of the ankle cut, I prefer to wear these with more open shoes in general, but today it's all about being comfortable so I couldn't resist putting on a pair of stud espadrilles I got a few years back from Public Desire.

I haven't really bought any new shoes from them lately but I remember there was a time when I was simply obsessed with this brand. I'd get 2 or 3 new pairs each month. They had affordable prices and some designs were to die for. Although it is also true that for the past couple years I have been focusing mostly on comfort and some of their high heeled boots weren't really the type of shoe you can walk in for several hours (and for anyone living in Madrid, you KNOW you're gonna walk A LOT), so slowly I ended up moving on to sneakers mostly and slowly my not so secret affair with Public Desire came to an end. I did eye some flats tho and found some really cute pairs I would simply LOVE to wear around the house, but we'll see..

MOVING ON, this shirt is thrifted and I still cannot believe I only paid 5€ for it. It has become one of my favourite shirts ever. I've been wearing it non stop. I think the stripped design is simply ideal and the color combo is to die for. The white is perfect, the sky blue shade is absolutely stunning and the way this shirt is structured makes it perfect for literally any occasion. It's made out of cotton and you can easily button it up to create a more structured look or use it in a way more casual way by simply rolling up the sleeves or layer it over a cute top.

And last but not least, we have one of my favourite tote bags from flying tiger, this one was part of their Valentine's Day collection an I think the colours match the outfit perfectly. Plus I went grocery shopping so a tote bag was a must.

As much as I love Madrid, the unpredictable weather is not among my favourite things about this gorgeous city. However, throughout the years I've learnt to dress accordingly. On most days, specially during Spring afternoons and Summer mornings, when the weather is warm and it's sunny outside but it can get chilly pretty quickly, my outfit to go is a pair of jeans, a tshirt and a thin sweater.

This particular outfit is a selection of some of my most affordable pieces, the jeans and the graphic tshirt are from h&m, and the navy blue sweater is from Zara. When it comes to jeans, h&m is among my favourite brands, they offer a wide range of styles making it pretty easy for you to find your own. The quality is great and their price range is pretty low (around 25€). Same thing happens when it comes to tshirts. I always go for the cotton ones, which are super comfortable and nicely done! The prices go from 5 to 15€ usually.

Zara is also great to find affordable basics. I usually struggle with the sizes when it comes to most clothes (like dresses or bottoms), but have no issue finding lovely sweaters every now and then! This basic navy blue sweater has become one of my favourite pieces and it matches wonderfully with literally anything. It's a great piece to carry around when the weather is a bit unpredictable. You can easily throw it on and carry on with your day.

I always rely on accessories to upgrade my looks a little bit, and since these I wear more often and I can easily match them with any outfit, I do tend to spend a little bit more on them. I always look for easy to wear, practical and long lasting pieces that will easily give me a more distinguished look.

One of my favourite bags is this one from Polène, known as the Numèro Deux. It has two different compartments, each with its own zipper. It's made of leather and both the colour and the design are simply stunning. This bag has become my everyday bag. It fits lots of things and I can easily wear it to uni, the office and to hang out with friends. It fits a small notebook, my wallet, iphone, liptick, pens.. sometimes even my ipad!

I also don't mind spending a little bit more on shoes. I walk a lot everyday and I need my footwear to be comfortable. I thought I'd be forced to suffer a little bit when I ordered these pumps online (it was love at first sight), but to my surprise, they are very comfortable! They are nicely done, they're also made of leather and the design is simply stunning.

I grew up watching Sex & the City, and it wasn't until I reached my 20s that I realised Carry was absolutely right: a great pair of shoes can upgrade literally any outfit. Barca is among my favourite brands when it comes to finding great quality shoes at great prices. They have a wide range of designs and they usually cost around 100€ (depending on the model).

When it comes to fashion and the want to express yourself everyday in a way that makes you feel good, it's easy to get a bit lost in terms of what to wear in every-day situations, such as grocery shopping, grabbing a coffee with a friend or simply running errands. You want to be comfy and you want to look "chic" but you don't want to make it seem like you've spent hours getting ready either. The goal is to look effortlessly chic wearing whatever it is that we have at home.

Today I'm showing you how I do that with two basics we all have at home and that we can easily find in any store on a budget: a basic tee & a pair of jeans.

Start off by selecting the jeans that look best on you, the light blue ankle jeans I'm wearing today are from h&m- I bought them a couple years ago for 25€ and they still look brand new (which is a miracle really taking in count how often I wear them and how careless I am with jeans in general.. they've been through it, trust me). Perfect for every season, investing in a great pair of jeans is always a good idea, but if you're on a budget, H&M is a great option as well. They have a great variety of pieces and sizes that will make it easier for you to find that one perfect pair.

When it comes to tshirts, the same is true: they tend to be around 10 or 15€ and they're 100% cotton (please make sure you check the label before buying one, just in case, cause not ALL of them are like this). I usually avoid the graphic tees because the design doesn't always last that long, but they have some really cute ones with embroidered texts on them that have personally lasted me years.

Find whatever combo fits you and makes you feel best, and once you have that covered, it's time to move on to the styling. A great pair of shoes and a nice bag can elevate literally any look, giving you that "nicely put together" touch.

My new favourite site when it comes to shoes is an Italian online store called BARCA, they have a great variety of designs making it very easy to find your perfect match. For me, these Beige Leather Pumps were it. It was love at first sight. Their price range is usually 100-120€ but taking in count they're made of leather and how comfortable they are, I'd highly recommend getting your next pair from them. They have a sale running at the moment so go check them out!

Remember that when buying for a shoe, the most important thing is comfort. Once that's covered, look for a material that will last you a long time. And even though it's always nice to have some very basic pairs that will be easy to combine with most of your clothes, don't forget to have fun every now and then. Don't underestimate the power of a pair of shoes you LOVE. The way they can boost your mood by just wearing them is simply amazing.

When it comes to bags, my favourite one is this Polène bag I got a few years ago. The design, the colour, the material, the size, everything about it screamed "perfection" when I first saw it. This is the "Numéro Deux" and sadly is no longer available. However, I highly recommend checking out their website and have a look at some of their new designs, because they surely do not disappoint. These are a bit more on the pricey side, their prices usually go from 300 to 400€, but if you are thinking on investing in a great quality bag, Polène is certainly the place to go. They are beautifully made, the designs help you elevate any look and it's seriously the perfect every-day bag. I ended up wearing mine almost on a daily basis, and I always get compliments on the bag.

Plus if you go to uni or to the office everyday, you can check out the bigger ones and make the most out of it.
